Possible Contraindications for Sound BathsÂ
Sound Healing: Safety & Benefits
Sound healing has been practiced for centuries to promote wellbeing. While generally safe, certain conditions require caution. Here's a quick guide to ensure your experience is both safe and beneficial:

How Sound Healing Works
Sound healing uses vibrations from instruments like gongs, singing bowls, and tuning forks to resonate with your body’s cells and energy centres. These vibrations promote relaxation, relieve tension, and stimulate physical healing. Emotionally, sound reduces stress and releases stored emotions, similar to meditation. Energetically, it balances chakras, restoring harmony to your body and energy field.
Key Contraindications:
-
Pregnancy (1st trimester or high-risk): Sound may affect the baby or stimulate oxytocin, potentially triggering early labour. Consult your GP or midwife.
-
Heart Conditions: Vibrations, especially from gongs, can impact pacemakers or cause discomfort. Check with your doctor.
-
Metal Implants: Sound waves may interact with implants. Seek advice beforehand.
-
Mental Health Concerns: Intense emotions may arise, which can be overwhelming for those with conditions like psychosis, PTSD, or schizophrenia. Consult your GP or support worker first.
Additional Considerations:
-
Sound Sensitivity: Let me know if adjustments are needed.
-
Hearing Impairment: Even without hearing, vibrations can be beneficial. Sitting closer to instruments may help.
Safety Tips:
Always communicate any concerns or conditions and consult your healthcare provider to ensure sound healing is right for you. Your comfort and safety are my top priority.
By participating, individuals assume full responsibility for their health and wellbeing.
